Our editorialpolicy
How the information on this site is researched, checked and kept current.
Sources come first
Rules and figures come from primary sources wherever one exists: the City of Richardson, the Texas Department of Insurance, the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, the National Weather Service, the EPA and FEMA. Each article lists its sources in numbered order, and the claims that rest on them carry a matching number.
Local neighborhood detail sometimes comes from weaker places such as real estate listings or inspection guides. When it does, we say "often" or "many" and avoid stating it as a survey result. Trade knowledge about how buildings behave is written in general terms.
Independence and disclosure
This is a referral service, and every page says so where it matters. Contractors do not write these pages and cannot pay to change them. Nothing here is legal, insurance or medical advice.
Corrections and updates
City contacts, state rules and insurance guidance change. We review pages periodically and correct errors when they are found. If you spot something wrong, use the contact page to tell us. Images on this site are illustrative AI images and are labeled that way.
How we use images
Images help to explain the stages of the work. They are AI-generated, and they do not show local jobs, real customers or specific companies.
What we do not publish
We do not publish paid placements, invented customer stories or claims that we cannot trace to a source.
